Chapman quotes Mark Twain as saying, “I can live for two months on a good compliment.” If compliments are so powerful why don’t we give our loved ones more compliments? Encourage one another should be our mantra for good relationships. So often we allow ourselves to feel taken for granted, so we don’t feel like giving our loved one a compliment. Well guess what? If they don’t feel appreciated they won’t feel like giving you a compliment either. Then nobody gets one.
Chapman suggests that we don’t focus on all the bad things our loved one does but we should make a list of all of the good things they do. We then should encourage them in the good things that they do. Most of us like compliments but some of us that is our LOVE Language and we Love them much more than the average person does.
