Receiving gifts is a primary Love language for many people. Since this is the time of giving that will be easy for some of us but Giving gifts when it is not an important occasion is what REALLY speaks love to those people where this is their Love language. Remember just because you may not like gifts all that much doesn’t mean your spouse won’t.
Gary Chapman points out that gifts can be purchased, found or made. I once gave my wife a seashell that I put on a chain to wear. She loved it as it represented our time together on the beach. You can make your own card, but put some time into the words y0u use. Some people like the gift of time. This is not the same as Quality time which we already discussed. It is being there when someone needs you. You might take time off work to be there the first time they speak to a large crowd or being with them when a family member is in the hospital. If Receiving Gifts is your loved ones Love language you have almost unlimited ways to say I Love You, just be creative. <>< Mark
