How do you Treat you Spouse?
Do you respect your spouse? I meet a lot of couples and they treat each other differently. RESPECT may be the one thing I see in all of the couples that have good relationships. If you stop respecting your spouse you should find out why, and get some help to work together to build that respect back again. Without respect your marriage will fail. I had a woman actually tell me that she wished her husband would treat her as nicely as he does the waitresses at the restaurant. You see Respect is being esteemed or honored and he gave more respect to strangers than his wife. How do you show that you honor your spouse? Treat them nicely, listen to them, take their opinions seriously, don’t interrupt them, do nice things for them? Do you do those things? Does your spouse?
One thing that shows a great deal of disrespect is name calling. A recent study found that couples that call each other derogatory names have the highest chance of a failed marriage. Words tend to hurt us much more than we let on. The good news is that you can learn to respect your spouse again and you can bring healing to past abuse or neglect.
