People often ask me what makes a good Marriage. Obviously it is a lot of things including good communication, expressions of affection, Trust, a base of security, and commitment to name a few. One thing I have found that under-girds all of these however, is RESPECT.
RESPECT is to hold each other in High Esteem or high Regard. You will hear that Respect is earned but I think we can choose to focus on the things we can respect and ignore the things that would cause us to loose respect for each other. The other way we continue to have respect for each other is to communicate and tell each other what we respect about the other person and inform them, with love, about the things that make us loose respect. If you work on choosing to RESPECT each other many of the other things that hold a Marriage together will fall into place. <>< Mark
